Breath Shapes And Pitch

In practicing the various breath shapes listed in the previous hint, make sure that your pitch stays constant. As your sound gets more quiet the pitch must not drop, and as you get louder make sure the pitch does not rise. Practice with a tuner. The needle should stay absolutely still as your volume changes.

The best way to insure this is with good posture and a good strong centered breath that comes from the bottom of the lungs, pushed out evenly by the diaphragm (see other breathing tips).
